GEOTHERMAL ENERGY: THE WORLD’S MOST ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY HEATING/COOLING SYSTEM.
Geo-Thermal works by using a constant ground temperature of 43*-47*. The theory is to use that constant temp to lower or raise the temperature of an evaporator coil placed in line with the blower fan.
A traditional A/C system has a coil temp of 43*-50*. It’s easy to understand how efficient the A/C system operates. The temp of the home is transferred from the coil to the ground and then loops back to your home at a perfect temp of 43*-47*. The heating and water heating mode works the same but backwards, because of the properties of Freon and antifreeze. The Freon is able to extract heat from the 43*-47* ground and raise your coil temp to 110*-120*. Freon has a low boiling point of -55*, so it can extract and transfer heat from the 43*-47* degree ground loop. A traditional heat-pump such as those used in the southern U.S use the outdoor temp 40*-45* to heat their home. The Geo-Thermal always has the constant temp to use.
Heat pumps are the second most efficient next to Geo-Thermals.
Why are Geo-Thermal #1? Constant Ground Temp.
Worth noting are the perfect conditions in which Geo-Thermal operate, 72*. This makes them less likely to breakdown and a much longer life expectancy. A geothermal system may cost more to install initially, but will pay for itself within 5 to 10 years. Then will provide years of energy savings. Geothermal Systems can save you 30-70% on your monthly utility bills. Today you can receive a 30% renewable energy tax credit for installing a geothermal system.
